It’s now December, which means Christmas could be here quicker than you think! This notion can be anxiety inducing for some, especially families facing hardships. CFEC’s “Touch of Christmas” campaign has symbolized our community’s willingness to support local families who need extra help during the holiday season. Families celebrate and enjoy the holidays through the distribution of Christmas Baskets filled with grocery cards, local merchant gift cards and gifts. Every request for a Christmas Basket is treated with compassion, respect, and confidentiality.
The Touch of Christmas campaign relies entirely on financial and in-kind donations by individuals, community groups, and local businesses. It is easy to make a monetary donation in any denomination to the Touch of Christmas campaign either online, by phone, or in person at CFEC. Please make all cheques payable to the Cariboo Family Enrichment Centre and direct them to the Touch of Christmas campaign. CFEC is a registered charity, tax receipts are available upon request. CFEC also encourages the donation of gift certificates from local businesses including grocery store and fuel vouchers. Gift cards are a preferred method of helping families; not only does it support our local businesses, it gives the recipient the opportunity to make a choice.
Applications to receive a Christmas Basket will be accepted in person only from November 12th to December 10th. The Christmas Baskets are distributed to families from our office during the week before Christmas. CFEC is located at 486 Birch Avenue, 100 Mile House.
